Precice Nail

Our center is using Precice 2 nail and from 2019 we use the new version that can tolerate the whole body weight and allow the patient to walk from the first days after the operation. So the patient can return his work early and no one will know that he is doing lengthening procedure. Remote Control Technology for The Treatment of Limb Length Discrepancy PRECICE is an American made intramedullary nail to be used for limb lengthening of the femur and tibia that utilizes an External Remote Controller (ERC) to non-invasively lengthen the bone. The key to this technology is the magnetic interaction between the PRECICE implant and the PRECICE ERC unit, a portable, hand held unit that lengthens the PRECICE implant. PRECICE is used to treat lower limb length discrepancies after fractures that are complicated by discrepancy.

How Precice Nail works

The key to the Ellipse platform technology is the magnetic interaction between the PRECICE implant and the PRECICE ERC. Permanent magnets are used to non-invasively adjust the PRECICE implant. This advancement in intramedullary limb lengthening allows for a precision, controlled lengthening phase with the ability to shorten the device if necessary. The key to the Ellipse platform technology is the magnetic interaction between the PRECICE implant and the PRECICE ERC.
